I'm relatively new to Seattle and I would like to start up a group that collaborates and produces short films on a regular basis. More than just a networking or discussion group, I would like this to be an active group that produces work consistently. We share scripts and story ideas, vote on one to produce, and we do it. We pool our resources and we make movies - hopefully every other month. We can submit these movies to festivals or just screen them for ourselves for critique and discussion.

This group is intended to bring independent documentary filmmakers (seasoned or aspiring) together for inspiration and networking opportunities. Some sample topics/events for discussion include: -Discuss current or aspirational projects -Discuss production war stories -Share tips and techniques -Deconstruct and analyze various documentaries -Go to documentary screenings -Screen each others' films, provide constructive feedback Who knows where our networking connections may lead!

Who Is TCAD Seattle? On May 23, Muhammad Yunus spoke at Seattle Town Hall and showed a trailer for a inspirational documentary he's in, called "To Catch A Dollar," due out in September. Several attendees talked with Yunus, Gayle Ferraro, the film maker, and Kathleen Wells, the project director from Grameen Research. When we asked if we could help, they said yes.
